bluekornchips:
Gah! Food or TC download? Need more time!
Necrith:
WHAT!? I din't even get a chance to scream on a train station yet
bluekornchips:
Loved it! It was pretty much the "bill-struggles" episode

I'm planning on buying my first ride at the end of summer. Similar to Bill in that its a two Wheeler, but not a moped :p. It's a ninja Kawasaki 250.
esamenoi:

Unless you are getting a Ninja called Kawasaki who is 250 years old, I suggest you re-arrange that sentence

Kawasaki Ninja 250 ;)

@Jennifer
Are you this Jennifer Albrecht?

Yep - that's the same Jen!
esamenoi:
ah HA! I knew it!

I knew the name from somewhere, so I googled her. And seeing as she started on the movie show with you guys (i think) it made sense! I worked it out a few months back and forgot to ask lol :)
mr_severs:
Whoooo I'm listening to it now! XD Made my day when I heard this! TAVERNCAST!
Azunai:
BREWDOG!
Nice! I have that at my local! Hardcore version, its 9% and they only sold it in half-pints. It is curiously fruity for something so strong!
mr_severs:
That was a great show! I love the NPR impersonations ^_^ I wonder if they could do a whole show like that without breaking up laughing, probably not. Hahaha I personally think the show is getting better and better, cant wait for the next one. I think you guys should introduce the show with voicemails again lol, I almost fell outta my chair laughing so hard =D Keep up a great work TC!
Necrith:
so I played that Drinking game alone

I won
Eloysius:
LOL
esamenoi:
Really enjoyed that!!

I'm hoping this was done before Bill started lent... else I'm telling on him to god. Because he was drinking booze!
Beatlejuice:
Yet another awesome show. I like the whole not caring thing. It is serving you all well. It is also good to have a Detroit native with the show. I think this variety show like comedy talkshow is great. Plus the scooter tales and Star Trek license bits were great. You all bring a little happiness into my mundane workday.

P.S.

Thought I was gonna crash my bike cause I was listening while riding and laughed my ass off when the star trek license bit happened. Too funny.
Eloysius:
I'll have to scan in my ID and post it. Give me a day. I still carry the thing, because...well...the story is good in groups, and you never know when I might get pulled over again. :)
Beatlejuice:
I wouldn't pull that with Pittsfield Twp PD. Those guys don't seem to funny, they'd probably tear apart your car looking for a concealed phaser.
Eloysius:
By the way - thanks for the kudos, Beatle - we'd love it if you want to tell your friends about us. :)

You must be from this corner of Michigan, eh?
zdriver:
I'm the only one of my friends who has a Star Trek officer's uniform that I keep vacuum sealed in the closet. I only wore it once for the opening of First Contact. Every time they try to out nerd each other, I just whip it out shut them all up.

I probably shouldn't even admit the things I have. As much as I make fun of geeks, it would be a real shame for you all to learn I might be the king of geeks. :P

Or at least a high ranking Admiral.

Pot. Kettle.
Azunai:
Wow.... I thought having the lord of the rings collectors edition was nerd-dom.

/claps
bluekornchips:
I've never seen Star Trek, but that is awesome nerd cred. I've actually started to relish the fact I'm known as a nerd. :p
Tsumari:
There are few things in this world I am prouder to call myself than nerd and geek.
Beatlejuice:

Yeah, lived in East Detroit near Harpo's for a long while then moved to Belleville. I worked out in AA at Bennigans and Arborland Mall. Both I think are now gone.

Far as recommending the show, would love to. Just I don't know too many people who have ipods around here. East Tennessee, this place is still back in the 1800's mentally and technologically. Those that have em, I'll pass along the word.
Beatlejuice:

I see geek and nerd as 2 separate things. I think of nerds as restricted to RPG's like D&D and chess club and such. More for younger people. Geeks I see as gamers and maybe even those with serious Star Wars/Star Trek fan attachments.
bluekornchips:
Eh, Nerd is easier to say. :p

For me, nerd has always been more tech/computer specific, whereas a geek can be anyone who is passionate enough about something. You can have sports and theater geeks just the same as gaming and comic book geeks.

I identify as both, so whatevs.
mr_severs:
Well lets see I love playing rpgs mmos, I love Lotr and starwars, I'm a computer animator and I own a legit stormtrooper suit. I guess I would be all of the above. lol
Beatlejuice:
I am a gamer, shooters, some Mmo's but never was much into the D&D thing. I did get into robotech rpg. That was some serious nerdishness. Just a movie appreciation of star wars and star trek. Think I'm just a garden variety geek.
esamenoi:
WoW, couple other rpgs (KOTOR), strategy (e.g. C&C) and shooters. Collected and still own a shit ton of Warhammer (fantasy, 40K and LOTR) but thats about it... WHAT AM I?
Rale:
I own a legit stormtrooper suit.

Oh God... so jealous...
Oman:
LTCMDR Erwin, that was a major security breach. Effin' redshirts.

The pilots I work with always have "stardate" on the corner of our flight profile cards. I always thought it meant something, when I asked on of the pilots he said "I dunno, obscure Star Trek reference?"

Aaaaaanyway, great episode. You guys know by now, surely, that I dig group chemistry, and that was in spades. The call to Mike from Mike was great and Bill seems to have a bit of energy back again (of course, asking what IPAs are prove he's never listened to On Tap, traitor!)
zdriver:
We played some D&D as kids but me and my cousin were huge into Shadowrun. Cyberpunk was big in the 80's with us. Our last storyline had us taking over one of the Corporations that hired us to hack into and destroy one of it's competitors. By that time I was so hopped up on magics all the time I couldn't contain it, so I ended up destroying all of the known universe trying to get one last big hit of magic.
Necrith:
Playing Gamma World every week or so.

on Friday

...fun fun fun fun fun fun
splive:
Great episode guys. If any of my friends were even remotely into podcasts I would point them your way.

Your gag reel on this one had me laughing harder than I have in a long time listening to TC. You can really tell that you guys are having more fun making the show these past few episodes. Good stuff...sorry if it doesn't make you money, but think of the joy you are bringing to us 10 listeners.

My first vehicle was a big ass 1981 Ford Bronco...a pukish tan color with lighter spots where I had to spray over it with rustoleum. It was the type of vehicle where people in my town would turn around and wave at me even though I didn't know them...because the thing was so damn distinctive they recognized the kid driving the ugly, loud, rusted up Bronco. My favorite part may have been the box I kept in the back seat full of all the "non-essential" rusted parts that would fall off the car randomly. Even better when I got to gave the box to someone as a white elephant present.

I was just glad to have a car.
mr_severs:
Haha now a Ford Bronco would be a cool first car, do you still have it?
splive:
Haha, no it died many years ago.

Also "cool" may apply if it wasn't puke brown, didn't require me to have to get a jump start every other time I drove, got more than 8 miles to the gallon, didn't backfire so hard it made folks on the street afraid there was a drive-by in progress, and didn't have a backfire induced hole in the muffler that sent putrid gas fumes through the (thankfully spacious) cab.

All that being said I do think back fondly on it...although probably in the way that a Stockholm Syndrome patient thinks back on days spent with their captor.
JASON:
My first vehicle was a 1994 BMW 318i, black with tan interior. I bought it for $4000 from a man who was teaching his daughter a lesson in caring for her things. I loved that car but it was totaled in my first and only wreck. Second was a gray 1991 Toyota Celica. This car was a death machine...it had no muffler and the front fender was held on with my drummer's belt.
Azunai:
My first vehicle and still is is a pergeout 106, independence.
Always been my secret indulgance to just drive somewhere for the sake of driving, sod the cost of petrol!
Beatlejuice:
Mine was a early 80's Renault Alliance. Crappy car, gold in color. Even though the guy told me the clutch was done recently, he lied I found out when a week later the pressure plate shredded apart. It also would leak in the rear seat floor and in the winter would freeze overnight into little ice rinks.
