Closing up the cabin for the winter

April 11, 2009 12:37:28 PM

Hey all,

We've been pretty quiet the past few months. It's because we've been trying to work out all the details on what we're going to do with the show, and didn't want to say anything prematurely. I know it's taken awhile to get to the announcement phase, sorry about that.

Taverncast is not going to return until late this year at the earliest, but more likely next. I do think we are coming back, although things are going to be changing with the show when we do. It's actually me who's put the brakes on as much as they are - I'm getting married, I'm moving, and a few other major life change types of things all before October - so to be honest there just isn't enough time to devote to TC right now, so I need to step back. Bill's tied up in any number of real world responsibilities - as is Michelle. Also, we've now got our show hosts spread all over the globe and it's been difficult to organize recording schedules and ensure quality. For the moment the stars are not aligning for us to jump back into the podcasting seat.

When the show comes back it won't matter if we've lost most of the original audience (because, as I said, the show is going to go in a different direction - and it may not even be called Taverncast), but I'm hoping you long-term TC fans will still have us subscribed and take a listen when we do return. If you're here - you'll know it long in advance of it happening, and you'll get an idea of where we're heading.

We learned a lot by doing season 3. We changed from gaming to a more general show, and we made mistakes, and had some successes. It taught us a lot about what we need to do going forward. I think we all love podcasting, and that's why I know for sure that we will be back at it again soon enough.

Until then, we hope you've enjoyed what we've brought you these past years, and will stop back in from time to time to see if we're back in the studio yet. For now, I'm shutting the power down, and taking the beer out of the fridge.

Bryce

AH8 - Of Putin, Oysters and colliding Protons

December 11, 2008 11:22:19 AM

This will probably be the ONLY podcast you EVER listen to where the following topics will be covered in under 22 minutes: Putin, Oysters and Bill's mojo. And the large hadron collider. Probably the one that gets us on the KGB watch list too.

Bravo. An absolutely outstanding show. Gets me through my bus ride to and from work. Helpful and humorous. Great music. Keep up the excellent work.
