Taverncast - Girl's Night
Time for a hit of estrogen!
Listen to the show:
We take a break from the mic and let the girls run things (like they don't already!)
- Awesome cream liquor Amarula!
- Celebrity crushes
- A female perspective on video gaming
- Do girls really live to shop?
You go girl!

Awesome TC goodness for my workday tomorrow -
You guys will be back next month I trust. Or is Girls night out going to be yet another feature in the monthly TC goodness
We'll be back next show. The girls will continue to appear, as they have, now and again. As far as an ongoing "Ladies Night" show - I've asked them if they want to do another one sometime in the future. It gives us two things - a break - and a show during the time we are taking a break. The real question is... did you like it enough for us to do more? Did you hate it? Did you only like some of it? It will be interesting to see how you guys react, because it is a different show than the usual - different mix of people, different tone - different in a lot of ways.
I'd like to know what our small female audience thinks as well.
I personally really enjoyed it. All of it. was kinda nice to hear things from a different perspective.
I'd like to hear some more from some or all of the girls.
Thanks for playing my message!
A good show!
I liked the new show a lot actually. A great switch up in humor and style form the norm.
Definitely awaiting for more of the ladies!
I really liked it! Diversity! It also helped me in my studies! (female perspective on video games) well done ladies on the nice little cast there!
Also gave you fella's a nice little drinking sesh!
I also liked the out takes. "What are you going to be talking about?" "Nothing you need to know" :D
I didn't enjoy this show. I didn't relate to the subject matter, and it didn't enthrall me.
I'm sorry, this isn't against the ladies or their technique, they were everything that Taverncast is: genuine, good chemistry etc.

How didn't it related to the subject matter?
And you still meant to say they were everything that TC IS not ISN'T?
They embodied everything that I enjoy about TC (i.e. professionalism and the rest, I really liked the women that presented, they were great and worked well together).
The subject matter may be right in your court, but I couldn't empathise at all. Normally when I'm listening to TC I think "oh man, I wish I was there so that I could say X to Y and shut them down" or "I saw that yesterday!" or something similar.
However, I live in a very male dominated culture: even our women can floor it through shopping centres, and regarding celebrity crushes no-one mentioned Miranda Kerr once, and so (besides being wrong) I wasn't feeling like I could interject anything.
Niche appeal is certainly not a bad thing, in fact that's what TC has run off for ages, but this wasn't my Niche.
And no, this isn't a problem, it's completely my issue. I either wasn't the intended audience (which I would assume), or I just didn't connect. If this was TC's vision for the future, I'd warn against it, but I don't believe it is. Thus, I say "I didn't really dig it guys (and girls), but that's just me."
Fair enough :)
Hey - you guys want another one of these? The girls seem keen to do one...
I'd love it! Getting the Ladies oppinion is very nice to hear!
Okay - how about this - since last time they were kind of winging it, and obviously turned it into a kind of Taverncast: The View...which didn't play that well with our predominantly male audience - what kinds of things would you like them to talk about this time? Got questions? Subjects? Taboo subjects? I think we can go ahead and do an anything goes show, and we'll and your input could chart the course a bit. Reply with your ideas and I'll make sure the ladies have them at their fingertips.
Speaking as a male listener, I had no major issues with the first one, really. Other than the lack of any staple TC hosts.
Thing is there were a lot of things covered. They talked about gaming, shopping, etc
Did they cover anything to do with cooking? If not:
Who does the most cooking in the house? Why? Do they like cooking and just don't have time? ETC. Cos at my parents home (when i'm there - University atm )my dad is a great cook, but he's the one who works the most, so my mum always cooks. Not that she's rubbish. She just doesn't enjoy it as much as my dad does. But she's the one with more time.
Esa (if its easier just use that if/when you talk about me! I know its hard to pronounce. BTW Bryce you nearly nailed it in the Media Tsunami show :) )
